Delete Files From The Recent File List In Windows

This tip requires a change to the Windows Registry. Please see the MSFN Guide "Backup Your Registry" if you are new to the Windows Registry.

Windows Media Player (WMP) is a built-in application that allows you to play multimedia files. Like many other applications, WMP remembers the most recently played files and displays them in the Recent File List under the File menu. This feature is useful if you regularly play certain files, but you may want to clear the list if you share the computer and a user account or create archives and CDs.

There are two ways you can clear the list:

I. The ClearMRU.exe Utility is available for free in the Windows Media Player Bonus Pack from Microsoft, but Microsoft does not support this tool.

II. You can also manually delete the list through the Windows Registry:

1. Start the Windows Registry Editor, regedit.exe, by typing regedit in the Windows Run Command Line.

2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\RecentFileList.

3. Delete the RecentFileList subkey.

4. If you've also streamed content from the Internet, you can delete the RecentURLList subkey.

5. Exit the Registry Editor.

6. Restart the computer.

To keep certain files in the list, don't delete the entire key. Deleting individual entries within the key will get rid of the files that you no longer want in the Recent File List.

How To Copy A Dvd Which Will Play On A X Box

TOOLS YOU WILL NEED:

DVD decrypter
DAEMON TOOLS
DVD2ONE
NERO 5.5.10 or above.

1. Rip the DVD in ISO mode with DVD decrypter to your hdd.
(mode=ISO-read)

2. Right click DEAMON TOOLS icon on your desktop
virtual cd/dvd rom
Device 0 [k] no media
Mount Image - ISO file

3. Make a main folder ( title MOVIE ) on your desktop.
make 2 subfolders in it VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS

4. Open DVD2ONE. choose movie only or entire disc.
source - drive you mounted in step 2 (VIDEO_TS)
Destination - VIDEO_TS folder you created in step 3.
start

5. DEAMON TOOLS - unmount the drive you made in step 2.
you can now delete the ISO file to save disc space

6. open NERO
close wizard
New Compilation DVD
Left Column (DVDROM/UDF/ISO)
No Multisession
UHF check Force DVD compatability (required for x box)
Label ( NAME OF MOVIE ) ALL CAPITAL LETTERS
Click New
drag over the VIDEO_TS FOLDER and AUDIO_TS folder you made
BURN

Nimbuzz trick (enter chat room using PC)

This trick is for Nimbuzz users

Nimbuzz users might have noticed that when you enter some room you see a welcome message or room subject....Hmm now I am goona tell you the process....

1. It is a PC trick & can't be done using mobile

2. Download JAJC(just another jabber client) & install

3. After the Account Wizard comes up select Yes under Do you have an existing account and press next.

4. In the Server field enter nimbuzz.com

5. Enter your Nimbuzz username & password, press next

6. If the wizard is able to connect and verify your account it will successfully complete. If not, it will fail with a warning. Accept the warning and manually configure as outlined in the next steps.

Manually connect JAJC to the nimbuzz server:

1. Double click on the JAJC icon in the System Tray
   
2. Click the light bulb button
   
3. Navigate to Tools > Accounts > Setup
   
4. Account field should be set to Default
   
5. Enter your nimbuzz username in the Username field
   
6. Enter your nimbuzz password in the Password field
   
7. Enter nimbuzz.com in the Server field.
   
8. Resource is Just another Jabber client.
   
9. Set After connect Stay: to Online
   
10. Select the Connection tab
    
11. Check the option Connect by IP/hostname
    
12. In the IP/hostname field enter nimbuzz.com
    
13. The Port number used for IM communication is 5222 and 5223 for encrypted SSL connections.
    
14. Check the option to Store all settings locally
    
15. If Proxy configuration is required select the Proxy tab and configure.
    
16. Press OK.
    
17. Next step to is to add contacts from the light bulb icon
18. To enter any chat room click on join/create groupchat & enter server conference.nimbuzz.com, username- your nimbuzz id, leave password blank, enter the room name to enter
